The Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art will present a lecture on 'Passionate Delineation' and the 'Main Stream' of Indian Painting: The Mughal Style and the Rajput Schools. University of Virginia Director of the Center for South Asian studies, Daniel Ehnbom, will speak on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m.

The Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art will present a lecture on 'Passionate Delineation' and the 'Main Stream' of Indian Painting: The Mughal Style and the Rajput Schools. University of Virginia Director of the Center for South Asian studies, Daniel Ehnbom, will speak on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. at the Crow Collection, 2010 Flora Street (between Harwood and Olive Streets and adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Art).

Daniel Ehnbom is the Associate Professor of the McEntire Department of Art Studies at the University of Virginia as well as the Director for the Center for South Asian Studies and the adjunct curator of South Asian art at the Bayly Art Museum. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Chicago and his BA from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. From 1984-1996 he was the South Asian consulting editor for painting and sculpture for The Dictionary of Art in London

Admission for the lecture is $10 (students and seniors are free).
Its also free for Friends of the Crow Collection.

Reservations are strongly recommended.

The Crow Collection of Asian Art is open Tuesday - Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Thursday until 9 p.m.

The Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art contains more than 500 paintings, objects of metal and stone, and large architectural pieces from China, Japan, India, and Southeast Asia. Over 300 works are on display in the galleries including precious jade ornaments from China, delicate Japanese scrolls and a rarely seen 28-foot by 12-foot sandstone facade of an 18th century Indian residence. 2010 Flora St.
