Two photographic exhibitions, both entitled Images of A Great Nation: a solo show with works by Joseph C.K. Yeung with landscape and peasant life, many of which were taken recently in Mainland China. The second exhibition features works by the Photographic Society: personal styles with a constant theme of capturing the beauty of the artists' hometowns.
Two photographic exhibitions, both entitled “Images of A Great Nation”, will be held
in the University Museum and Art Gallery, The University of Hong Kong starting 25
November.

Images of A Great Nation: Works of Joseph C.K. Yeung
25 November 2009 to 10 January 2010
Joseph C.K. Yeung studied science and obtained a doctoral degree in Australia. He
has been an advisor to the Central Policy Unit of the Hong Kong Government and is
now managing a trading company.
Yeung is interested in a wide range of arts, including literary arts, performing
arts and visual arts. This exhibition will introduce his photographic works of
landscape and peasant life, many of which were taken recently in Mainland China.
Some of his works have touches of painted colours; others are poeticized with
inscriptions by Professor Jao Tsung-I, a great scholar and master of Chinese
painting and calligraphy.

Images of A Great Nation: Works of the Greater China Photographic Society and
Invited Artists.
25 November 2009 to 14 March 2010
Members of the Greater China Photographic Society include photographers from
Mainland China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. In addition to the promotion of
photographic art, the Photographic Society regularly organizes fundraising events
for charitable causes. It also cooperates with colleagues and schools of continuing
education to provide training for their members and students.
This exhibition features works that reflect their photographers’ personal styles
with a constant theme of capturing the beauty of the artists’ hometowns. Over 200
creative works are selected for the exhibition, which are divided into two groups.
The first group will be exhibited from November 2009 to January 2010, and the second
group from January to March 2010.

The opening ceremony for the exhibitions will take place on Tuesday, 24 November at
6 p.m.
