In response to our invitation, art advisors Marc Blondeau and
Philippe Davet have transformed Hard Hat’s space into an
imaginary Studiolo, which regroups 19th, 20th and 21st century
works of both fine and decorative arts.
This cabinet is a fiction. Supposed to be a private space for
work and contemplation, this public staging delineates a
singular taste, an esthetic subjectivity that only partially
reflects that of the curators.
Studiolo should above all be perceived as a period room,
focusing on a private collection, circa 2010. From one work
to another, one can distinguish a muted, contained violence,
accentuated by a particularly sharp awareness of the layered
histories that make up our critical and anxious gaze.
Opening : January 21, 2010 - 18H
