Le Pouvoir de l'Ellipse is the artist's attempt to design an exhibition as a three-dimensional comic strip: The medium's specifics - spatially representing a lapse of time - is extended from a piece of paper to the gallery space. 'A lonesome cowboy's odyssey through the salt desert reflects my ambivalent relationship to the White Cube. The stages of the cowboy's trip refer to the way I develop my works' (Adrien Tirtiaux).
From January 27 till March 13, 2010, Galerie Martin Janda is showing the second solo exhibition by young artist Adrien Tirtiaux (born 1980 in Bruxelles). The two main influences and points of reference for Tirtiaux’ works are Belgium’s comic culture and his architecture studies.
