La galleria è lieta di presentare la terza personale dell'artista svedese Annika Ström. L'artista è nota soprattutto per i suoi video, canzoni e testi.

Scrive AnniKa Ström riguardo alla mostra:
"Ci sono tre video proiezioni, in formato super8, tutte della durata di circa un minuto:
Sunshine head (Solhuvud)/ Testa di sole
Una donna anziana si trova accanto ad una finestra. Le persiane sono abbassate. Il sole passa attraverso. Non appena si muove, il sole splende sopra la sua testa, come se vi si appoggiasse. La telecamera è abbagliata e il viso dell'anziana signora si affievolisce per poi apparire ancora.
The dying colour (Den döende färgen)/ Il colore che muore
Pittura nera scorre su un dipinto bianco e nero.
Crystal brain (Kristall hjärna)/ Cervello di cristallo
Un'anziana signora sta cercando di toccare una lampada di cristallo che pende dal soffitto. Sembra impressionata e confusa dalla sua bellezza.

La mostra include 4 dipinti su tela e quattro dipinti su carta. Tutti con lo stesso motivo, rombi dipinti in bianco e nero.

Il conflitto tra bene e male. Tristezza e felicità . E' come un coro che viene continuamente ripetuto nel tentativo di acquisire un controllo su una situazione che insiste a ritornare. Il dipinto tenta di provocare attraverso la ripetizione; se un altro oggetto o colore viene aggiunto, l'equilibrio dei dipinti crolla. Il dipinto tenta di mantenere una differenza naive tra bene e male – il rimanere in una qualsiasi zona grigia è impossibile.

Please repeat: black, white, sad, happy, sad/ Prego ripetere: nero, bianco, triste, allegro
I can hear you, I can’t hear you. You have nothing to say, I have nothing to say/ Posso sentirti, non posso sentirti. Non hai nulla da dire, non ho nulla da dire.
I count 1,2,3, black, white, black/ Conto 1,2,3, nero, bianco, nero
Repeated: black and black again/ Ripetuto: nero e ancora nero
Fit it all in, take it all out/ Metti tutto, togli tutto

E ci sono 5 opere su tela, dipinti in bianco e nero:
It makes sense: it doesn’t make sense, time to go home, I have no home/ Ha senso: non ha senso, è tempo di andare a casa, non ho una casa
Please repeat: Black, white, Good, bad/ Prego ripetere: nero, bianco, buono, cattivo
Black to White: look at my voice/ Dal nero al bianco: guarda la mia voce
Please repeat: I don’t remember, now I remember/ Prego ripetere: non mi ricordo, ora mi ricordo
I am now a woman, I am now a man/ Ora sono una donna, ora sono un uomo"

Galleria Sonia Rosso is pleased to announce the third exhibition, by the Swedish artist Annika Ström. The artist is especially known for her video art, songs, and text pieces.

As Annika Ström writes about the exhibition: “There are three films projected, in super 8 format, all about one minute long: 
Sunshine head (Solhuvud)
An old woman stands by a window, the blinds are down. The sun is still coming through. As she moves, the sun shines on the top of her head, as if the sun is resting on her head.
The camera dazzles and the old woman’s face fades away and appears again.
The dying colour (Den döende färgen)
Black paint streams over a black and white painting.
Crystal brain (Kristall hjärna)
An old woman is reaching out to touch a crystal lamp hanging from the ceiling. She seems impressed and confused by its beauty.

The exhibition includes 4 paintings on canvas and 4 paintings on paper.
All with the same pattern, squares, painted in b/w.
The conflict between good and evil. Sad and happy. It is as if a chorus is being repeated as a way to gain control over a situation, which insists on coming back.
The painting tries to impress through repetition, if an another object or a colour is added: the paintings confidence falls apart. The painting attempts to maintain a naïve difference between good and bad- to remain in any grey area is impossible.

There are 5 works on paper, dimensions 122X150 cm. The titles are:
