The International Network Art Symposium brings together an internationally renowned group of artists, theorists, critics and curators to discuss the past, present and future of creative practice that employs network technologies.

Network art : technology and connectivity ? expansion ?? insurrection ???

SIGNAL (30 October-2 November 2012) brings together an internationally renowned group of artists, theorists, critics and curators to discuss the past, present and future of creative practice that employs network technologies.

This symposium comes at a time when wireless technology spreads imagery and data like wildfire…the economy of networked devices is booming…regulatory bodies and shareholders do all they can to maintain control…and individuals and groups from around the world consistently initiate and intervene, creating new forms of exchange, and challenging political regimes.

The discussion will unfold across four themed days, beginning with presentations from participants each morning, followed by chaired discussions in the afternoon. The event, curated by La Chambre Blanche guest curator Julie Louise Bacon, is free and open to all. The programme is as follows :

Tuesday 30 October
Culture : Stability and Instability
