Change Course Conference

Theather Winterthur, Winterthur

60 young and creative activists, artists, thinkers, filmmakers, scientists and members of international (youth) movements from all over the world in a series of workshops and public events.

comunicato stampa

From 8th- 11th December, the Club of Rome has invited 60 young and creative activists, artists, future thinkers, filmmakers, young scientists and members of international (youth) movements from all over the world to Winterthur.

In a series of full-day workshops and public events, the Change Course Conference will address the issue of change and the question of how to (really) make it happen.
A debate on the future of humanity and the planet

In a relatively short period of a few decades, our planet has changed dramatically: Today we live in a world where, on the whole, people are healthier, wealthier, better educated, better informed and better connected than ever before.

The possibilities to make changes, to bring people together, to obtain and disseminate information, to use various media outlets and to voice your own opinions are better than they ever were.
Processes of transformation and the dynamics of change

At the same time, it is easier to see exactly how our actions are affecting our planet and to evaluate and assess how future trends and challenges can be met long-term. There are a lot of good concepts, new ideas and pioneering projects which should help us to achieve sustainable and long-term changes.
The question is: Why do we not do it then?

In what kind of world do we want to live in the future? How can we achieve our goals? Which factors favour change? What is it that is actually stopping us?
A meeting of international (youth) movements

The Change Course Conference meets the reality of a youth in transition. Despite seemingly decreasing active and passive participation in traditional political and democratic processes, the young generation is, to a large extent, very active and political. This commitment manifests itself in a wave of new movements.

The Change Course Conference will welcome many representatives of these movements: Known activists and bloggers from the Arab Spring, Greece, China and South America, members of the “Occupy” and “Indigandos” movements, politicians from the Pirate Party, activists from Central Africa and many more.
