Infra Sound: artist Alistair McClymont in conversation with neuroscientist Aleksandra Berditchevskai
This event brings together collaborators artist Alistair McClymont and neuroscientist Aleksandra Berditchevskaia. Over the past few months the duo have worked together to explore the subject of perception in relation to low frequency and infra-sound. This collaboration has culminated in the artwork and exploratory research project currently on display at the gallery titled One should never mistake pattern for meaning. McClymont and Berditchevskaia will discuss the project's background, what they hope to achieve and the crossovers between scientific and art practice as discovered through their working together as part of the 3 Branches of the Same Tree exhibition. To close the event artist and musician Tom Richards will perform a piece of work using the custom designed sound system built for One should never mistake pattern for meaning. This performance will be produced as part of two day residency in which both McClymont and Richards spend time in the exhibition space interacting with the speaker system. 23 May 2015, 2:00pm - 5:00pm.
