On Saturday, July 10 the project NIZZA TRANSFER opened on the grounds of the Frankfurt roller-skating sports club. During a period of three months this centrally located but scarcely noticed site next to the Main river embankment will be defined as an autonomous zone for urban activities: a place for discussions about art, urbanism and youth culture.

The overall installation is designed by several artists who all create links to the urban texture and actively produce functional links.

Painter Franz Ackermann translates and condenses the "house squatting" situation into one typographical icon. This huge sign is displayed on the roof and thus highly visible, but at the same time concealed to the visitors. The monthly city district magazine "BANK" by Wiebke Grosch and Frank Metzger covers the project for the whole duration of the project and serves as a common medium of communication for everyone involved. Taking the existing architecture into account, Andreas Schutzenberger and Stefan Lehnert have developed a fully functioning skatepark. As a result the canopy was transformed into a mini-ramp that leads into the upper storey. Titled "2WD" the artists group political.rhyme.practice. provides a shuttle bus for the skaters which also functions as a meeting and information point within the skatepark. Tobias Rehberger's tent construction with an integrated lamp turns the roof of "Bouhlou's Bar" into a terrace that connects inner and outer space. The neon sign on the southern facade "If you want to rock, you've got to roll" by Silke Wagner relates to the political discussion about the concept of multitude, central to today's endeavour to create a new socio-critical movement. On the northern side of the building Stefan Wieland has realised an ornamental mural that relates to the pictorial language of various pop cultures.

The collection of skateboards from Patrick Bruns and Donald Campell as well as the concert flyers of the collection from Dave Scott, which were designed by Raymond Pettibon, contribute to the visual language of this counter culture. Furthermore, weekly lectures and films dealing with the history and political culture of skateboarding, with urbanism, urban theory and art will be arranged on the following dates:
