comunicato stampa

Euroscreen21's first non European showing efforts to strengthen an on going dialogue between artists living in Europe and North America, advancing an intention to broaden horizons, promote exchange beyond international boundaries, and an acceptance of our responsibility to reach each other across today’s convoluted social and cultural global context.

Euroscreen 21 is being brought to Toronto, it's first North American destination by artist Ella Joseph, in cooperation with i2i Concepts /Art VAT (http://www.i2iconcepts.net) and the DeLeon White Gallery . The DeLeon White Gallery (DWG)opened in Toronto, Canada, in a 6,000 sq.ft. renovated space, in 1995. Since then, it has been committed to exhibiting work by some of the world’s most accomplished and critically acclaimed contemporary artists. In particular, the artists exhibiting at the DWG work within environmental or ecological paradigms; issues revolving around nature, culture and society are addressed by the artists through medium, technique and content. Under the Directorship of Stephen White, the DeLeon White Gallery has evolved into central cultural and community oriented gallery. Euroscreen screening includes videos and new media works of Judith Nothnagel(Germania) Gregory Chatonsky (Francia) , ELASTIC Group of Artistic Research (Italy/Spain), Lilia Perez Romero (Mexico) Anouk de Clerq (Belgium) Selda Asal (Turkey), TJADER-KNIGHT inc (Belgium), Vujinovic&Simcic (Slovenia) and other european artists.

“Euroscreen" project annually highlights 40 new media artists from European countries who are working in Video and New Media Arts. Presentations of Euroscreen have taken place in prominent museums and galleries, as well as on the world wide web, and in popular public spaces throughout Europe.
Euroscreen presents new approaches to art and communication. The presentation is a collection of works which reaches beyond all restrictions of language; an experiment performed by artists of various countries, reflecting issues of present political, philosophical and aesthetic concern. Euroscreen artists originate from England, France, Hungary, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Croatia, Turkey, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Luxembourg, Greece, Denmark, Finland, Czech Republic, Russia...First exhibition locations of the project have been the PAN-Forum of Art, in Emmerich and the MUSEUM-KUNST-PALAST, DUESSELDORF, GERMANY
