Interferncia is an artistic group whose aim is the promotion and production of actions and ephemeral artistic interventions in public spaces. They demand these spaces as places of expression and social and artistic thinking. They understand public space as a space for permanent dialogue, opened to artistic experimentation and citizen participation. The event will take place in different public spaces of Barcelona during July 2006 within the frame of Grec Festival.
Intervenciones artisticas en espacios publicos
Interferencia is an artistic group whose aim is the promotion and production of actions and ephemeral artistic interventions in public spaces. We demand these spaces as places of expression and social and artistic thinking.
We understand public space as a space for permanent dialogue, opened to artistic experimentation and citizen participation. The Interferencia event will take place in different public spaces of Barcelona during July 2006 within the frame of Grec Festival.
The objective of this call is the selection of artistic projects to take part in this event. Artists or collectives of any nationality can apply for this call in one or several of the following sections of the project:
1, Projects of artistic intervention in public spaces of Barcelona
1. The objective of this call is the selection of projects of artistic intervention mainly in public spaces of the downtown area and Montjuic area in Barcelona. Only proposals including public space as a specific part of the artistic project -modifying it, questioning it, rethink it- will be accepted.
2. Deadline: 5 February 2006
3, Documentation:
CV and ID photocopy (or equivalent document) of the author or authors of the project.
Description of the project, including sketches and images in jpg format with a 72 ppp resolution
Detailed description of the technical necessities of the project
Estimated detailed budget, specifying if some concept can have its own finantial resources.
4, Interferencia will have the publication and reproduction rights of the selected projects in all related to the promotion of the program, and will incorporate to its documentary files all the generated documentation.
2, Call for proposals foe ephemeral actions
1. The objective of the call is the selection of action /performance projects to be included in the programming of Interferencia. Actions with a close relationship with public spaces of the Montjuic area and Raval district of Barcelona will be prioritized. Interferencia will also prioritize those actions fostering participation of the public and with a social content.

All the documentation required to understand the project, including detailed estimated budget and technical necessities of the proposal.
3, Call for proposals: “It could happen here"
1. The aim of the project “It could happen here" is to encourage the inhabitants of Barcelona to think about the consequences of natural disasters happening in some places around the world. The idea is to get these events closer to the city of Barcelona by “representing" them in public spaces of our city through virtual manipulation of the images.
How Placa Catalunya would look like after a disaster like Katrina? How any given street or square of the city of Barcelona would look like after an earthquake, like the recent one in Pakistan?, after the bombings in Bali?, after a tropical storm?, after floods?… It could also happen here. Those things do not always happen to other people.
The aim of the call is to select digital format images showing this kind of virtual intervention in any public space of Barcelona. Those images will be shown within the frame of the event.

4, Call for proposals: Audiovisual documents showing experiences of artistic interventions in public spaces
1. The objective of the call is the selection of audio-visual documents to be projected, showing experiences of artistic intervention in public spaces of any city or territory.
2. Deadline: 10 May 2006.
3, Documentation:
CV and ID photocopy (or equivalent document) of the author or group responsible for the project
Audiovisual documents in dvd or vhs format
Documentation considered rellevant in relation to the project
4. After the exhibition, the videos will be part of the Interference documentation center of artistic interventions in public spaces.
