Triennale Design Museum presenta la mostra The New Italian Design 2.0 negli spazi del Beijing Industrial Design Center di Pechino dal 27 giugno al 20 agosto 2012: una ricognizione sul design italiano contemporaneo che ne documenta le trasformazioni e il legame con i cambiamenti economici, politici, tecnologici del secolo.

Triennale Design Museum, il primo museo del design italiano, diretto da Silvana Annicchiarico, porta avanti con questa mostra un percorso di analisi, valorizzazione e promozione della nuova creatività italiana.

Emerge un panorama ricco e variegato, che parte dal furniture design fino ad abbracciare nuove forme di comunicazione, dal food al web design, dal fashion al textile design, dal design del gioiello alla grafica e alla multimedialità fino ai complementi d’arredo e all’oggettistica.

Gli oggetti esposti spaziano da autoproduzioni a produzioni in grande serie, da oggetti artistici a altri prettamente industriali. M olti dei designer coinvolti sono già affermati a livello internazionale e lavorano per importanti aziende del settore.

The New Italian Design 2.0 è la versione aggiornata e ampliata dell’omonima mostra presentata per la prima volta nel 2007 alla Triennale di Milano, nata da un censimento su scala nazionale con l’intento di mettere a fuoco il passaggio nel mondo del design dal XX al XXI secolo evidenziandone il sostanziale cambiamento di ruolo della professione. La mostra ha fatto tappa a Madrid (2007) e Istanbul (2010). Dopo Pechino sarà allestita dal 20 settembre al 20 novembre 2012 negli spazi del National Taiwan Craft Research and Developement Institute di Nantou.

La mostra presenta 282 progetti, di cui 165 sul design di prodotto, 30 sulla grafica, 54 su oggetti legati al corpo come gioielli, borse e accessori, 14 sulla ricerca, 14 sul food design, 5 sull’interior design.

Triennale Design Museum presents The New Italian Design 2.0 exhibition, which will be hosted by Beijing Industrial Design Center, Beijing, between June 27 and August 20 2012: an overview on contemporary Italian design that explains and describes the transition of the movement and its links with economic, political, technology changes that occurred over the century.

Triennale Design Museum, the first museum devoted to the Italian design movement, is directed by Silvana Annicchiarico, and has organized this exhibition to analyze, value and promote the new Italian creativity.

The scene that emerges is rich and diverse; it starts from furniture design and touches upon new forms of communication, from food to web design, from fashion to textile design, from jewel design to graphic and multimedia all the way to interior design and object design.

The exhibited works range from self produced prototypes to large-series products, from works of art to merely industrial artefacts. Many of the involved designers are already well established at international level and are employed for important companies in the industry. The exhibition is comprised of 282 projects, 165 of which deal with product design issues, 30 are graphic in nature, 54 are focussed on the body and decorative objects such as jewels, bags and accessories, 14 are pure research projects, 14 are on food design while 5 are on interior design.

The New Italian Design 2.0 exhibition is the updated and expanded version of the namesake exhibition launched for the first time in 2007 at Triennale di Milano, the result of a nationwide survey that served the purpose of focusing on the transition design went through between the XX and the XXI centuries; as such it highlights and bears witness to shift in the role played by designers.

The exhibition was presented in Madrid (2007) and Istanbul (2010). After Beijing it will be presented in the spaces of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Developement Institute of Nantou beetween September 20 and November 20 2012.
