New photo- and sculpture-based works
Danish visual artist Mads Gamdrup (b 1967) has been invited to create a series of works specifically made for Kunsthallen´s exhibition hall. Taking his starting point in a new photo- based series of pictures called Monochrome Color Noise, the artist has worked radically with specific colours and the special challenges that the photographic media offers. The photographs appear to be pure abstractions which formally originate in the monochrome circle. The colours swim before your eyes and create a kind of visual noise that puts focus on the visual experience itself. The works are placed as sculptures on low plinths in the room which create a physical rhythm in the exhibition.
