The poetic rhythm contains a sequence of images; a poem’s dramaturgy resembles the editing of film footage. Thus it is not a coincidence that contemporary researchers of the poetic language connect its meanings with visual phenomena. Paintings by poets as a genre, embodied in Guillaume Apollinaire’s poetic calligrams, find their place in the history of culture in the early 20th century.
