Modern and contemporay art and design

FORM is the first consumer exhibition of its kind in Europe providing a unique and accessible platform for visitors to see and buy the best modern and contemporary work. With over 100 vetted exhibitors from all genres FORM will appeal to both the new and established collector offering a fantastic buying opportunity to start or develop collections. FORM not only brings an exciting crossover of art and design into one international exhibition but enhances this further with two lively seminars. How and why are design and art coming together? Our FORUM seminars give FORM visitors an insider’s view of the shape and character of a growing market. Marcus Fairs, founding and former editor of Icon, the design industry magazine and curator/consultant Libby Sellers, have observed the growing relationship between art and design at first hand. Who better then to run our FORUM seminars devoted to the subject? Hosting key industry figures including Tom Dixon, Michael Hue Williams of Albion Gallery and more, the evenings promise to be exciting and controversial.

dna epitomises the thinking behind FORM – exploring the common ground between art and design. It provides visitors with the chance to discover – and buy – the work of up-and-coming talent as it explores art, applied arts, and design. Some of the most dynamic work being created in art and design consciously blurs the boundaries that traditionally divided art from applied art and applied art from design. And just as the definition of ‘design’ or ‘art’ is becoming fuzzy so is the definition of ‘designer’ or ‘artist’. Key artists are becoming important players in the field of design and the art world is taking more interest than ever in contemporary design. In selecting the work for dna we sought to reflect the values and virtues that this diverse group share. So while they draw on, or borrow, the language of other disciplines, what almost all have in common is their commitment to skilled techniques, to the innovative use of materials and to truly contemporary design and aesthetics.
