kim? Contemporary Art Centre is pleased to announce the introduction of kim? Residency Award, a residency programme for Latvian artists, as well as the cooperation with KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin where the winner of the first Residency Award will spend two months in spring 2015 (May 15 - July 15). In 2016 the winner will be able to participate in the ISCP International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York and in 2017 the residency host will be Gasworks, Gallery, Studios and International Residency Programme in London. The aim of the Residency Award is to strengthen the professional skills, competitiveness and international cooperation of the up-and-coming and already internationally experienced Latvian contemporary artists, thus advancing the international recognisability of Latvian art. The three years residency cycle shall conclude in the 100th year anniversary of Latvia with a group exhibition in Riga in the framework of kim? program 21st century.
