International symposium about the performative artistic practice
International symposium about the performative artistic practice, organised by ArtEZ institute of the Arts (MA Dance Unlimited / dAcapo Studium Generale). The symposium explores the unwritten rules that determine the artistic practice of choreography and performance. It investigates how artists today deploy (new) strategies as to experience a higher level of artistic freedom. The moderator will be Bojana Cvejic, a dance dramaturge, dancer, and performance theorist and maker. She will hold an introductory lecture and interview a number of other speakers such as the prominent British choreographer Jonathan Burrows, the choreographer, artist and author Ivana Mueller, the choreographer Alexandra Waierstall, and Ric Allsopp who is the co-founder and joint editor of Performance Research. In addition, Erik Kaiel and Jasper Dzuki Jelen will perform Kaiel's dance duet 'No Man is an Island'. From from 12.30 to 4 pm, ArtEZ Theatrium. Admission free, please reserve in advance.
