Screening and discussion between Keti Chukhrov and Arseniy Zhilyaev

sintesi del comunicato stampa

Screening and discussion between Keti Chukhrov and Arseniy Zhilyaev. Philosopher and poet, Keti Chukhrov will present her film Love Machines (2013, 42', English subtitles) that questions today's shift to a post-humanist philosophy, with its dismissal of the notions of love, mercy, pity, and collective sensitivity as components of an outdated human culture. Chukhrov is an associate professor at the Department of Art Theory and Cultural Studies at the Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow. She has authored numerous texts on art theory, culture, politics, and philosophy. Chukhrov's latest performances include Communion and Elpida and the Greeks, both 2010. She has recently performed her dramatic oratorio Afghan Kuzminki in the Fourth Moscow Biennale, Moscow, 2011; 1st Kyiv Biennale, Kyiv, 2012; and Wiener Festwochen, Vienna, 2013, and presented her video-play Love-machines at the Bergen Triennial of Contemporary Art (curators E. Degot, D. Riff). Chukhrov lives and works in Moscow. Program in partnership with Betonsalon, Centre for art and research, Paris. (Image: video still Love Machines, 2013).
