Talk. Smith is a New York-based artist whose diverse practice investigates the cultural phenomenon of historical reenactment and addresses the complex relationships among American history, social activism, craft, and queer identity. Her 2005 The Muster project transformed Governor's Island into a dynamic campsite installation where participants answered the charge: "What are you fighting for?".
