Was our response to the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade meaningful? As politicians queue up to make apologies, a distinguished panel asks how slavery shapes the experience of black people today, and what our responsibilities are in dealing the legacy of slavery. Speakers: Tony Benn, former Labour MP and cabinet minister; Marika Sherwood, senior research fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London and author of After Abolition. Chair: Colin Prescod, chair of the Institute of Race Relations.
