Ping Pang Pong: Camille Henrot
The artist speaks, the institution invites the public to dialogue. The Ping Pang Pong program proposes a series of meetings with art's key figures: the artists. For two hours, international artists answer to the questions of the public, explaining their work through the presentation of images, sounds, videos or performances. Camille Henrot, trained at the National superior school of decorative arts in Paris, assert herself as one of the young emerging french figures in the contemporary art fields of drawing and animation. Camille Henrot is versatile in her choices, medium and techniques. Her work questions creation through such arts as cinema, music or architecture, existing both as art and craftsmanship. In those domains she explores the possibilities of shifts and cross-fertilization. Thus she recycles the cultural products through addition, subtraction or division to bring out their very essence. As such, Camille Henrot's work acts as a tracer on the artworks.
