Event, Stream, Object
In the framework of the exhibtion "Radical Conceptual" with works from ist collection, the MMK presents a new site-specific acoustic installation by Florian Hecker (b. 1975), who is regarded as one of the most innovative artists of today. The piece Event, Stream, Object is produced by the MMK and will be aquired fort he museum's collection. Working with sound as a medium, Hecker employs electroacoustic signal processing to generate highly complex compositions and multi-channel installations. This creates realms of experience with very particular psycho-physical properties, allowing the viewer to investigate perceptions of soun, body and space. Within the conceptually minimalist environments, the installation's technical apparatus thereby takes on sculptural form.
