On exhibit are a selection of images of Japan and America from Toshio Shibata's ongoing photographic representations of the land manipulated by man. Shibata's gelatin silver prints and Polaroid images have an exquisite and cool perfection. Disruption, destruction, and reconstruction are all recorded and transformed.

On exhibit are a selection of images of Japan and America from Toshio
Shibata's ongoing photographic representations of the land manipulated by
man. Shibata's gelatin silver prints and Polaroid images have an exquisite
and cool perfection. Disruption, destruction, and reconstruction are all
recorded and transformed. The images appear to be hauntingly reminscent of
movie stills, as wellas semi-abstract and near abstract paintings. They
range in size from 16 x 20" to 40 x 50". An image from the exhibition is
