Comma 28: Adrian Paci and Comma 29: Julien Bismuth

sintesi del comunicato stampa

Comma 28: Adrian Paci and Comma 29: Julien Bismuth. Launched in March 2009, Comma is a dynamic new series of commissions. Over 30 of today's most outstanding emerging and established international artists will be invited to create new work, installations and architectural interventions in a fast paced succession of exhibitions. Adrian Paci recycles the generic imagery of biography to investigate the relationship between personal account and cultural generality. For his Comma commission Paci has made a series of 12 paintings based on the stills from a film taken at a wedding ritual and a mosaic, a first use of the medium by the artist, which will be displayed in the centre of the Front Space. Julien Bismuth's exhibition revolves around a singular sculpture; a metal pole, 8 meters high which will support a flashing Led light signaling 'error' in Morse code. The show also includes a series of videos in the back gallery of Bloomberg Space, depicting other sources of luminescent signals, from lighthouses and radio towers, to stars and fireflies. The program is curated by Sacha Craddock and Vanessa Desclaux.
