Biennale de Montreal

Montreal's Cite Multimedia, Montreal

For this 3rd Biennale de Montreal, we placed emotion at the source of our choices. The social and economic context lends itself to it. Return to the individual, enhanced value of communication between people, identification of pleasures and passions, ethical and political choices.

comunicato stampa

The Biennale de Montréal is an international biennial established in 1998.

The third edition will be held from September 26 to November 3, 2002.

The 3rd Biennale de Montréal will take place in Montréal's Cité Multimédia in Old Montréal, with Prince Street as its main public venue.

This biennial is about pleasures, passions and emotions Life is Life! Pleasures, Passions, Emotions

For this 3rd Biennale de Montréal, we placed emotion at the source of our choices. The social and economic context lends itself to it. Return to the individual, enhanced value of communication between people, identification of pleasures and passions, ethical and political choices.

To discuss these subjects, we propose exhibitions, a seminar, performances, films. We have selected first-rate artists from here and abroad, with thoughts and works that will move you to extremes, we are sure.

We wish to thank all the artists and professionals taking part in this contemporary visual arts event. We thank our public and private partners, the governments of Québec and Canada and the City of Montréal, for their financial support. The 3rd Biennale de Montréal is particularly grateful to Cité Multimédia of Montréal and the Société de développement de Montréal for their enthusiastic cooperation. We also thank all those who have committed themselves into this project by providing advice, technical help and logistical support. To members of the board of directors and the staff of the CIAC/ Biennale de Montréal, we say thank you.

We invite the public to see the work of today's artists. They are a source of inspiration and a tribute to life.
