_____________

The following poems were written by Sigurdur Gudmundsson in connection to the works exhibited

ON PINS AND NAILS
Maybe it is all about being
It´s a matter of someone caring - caring deeply-
And less a matter of understanding than believing

Some words said now and long time ago
Kept alive to be discovered and remembered
They are my concern and therefore I say them again
I want to have them around me for a while

Can my concern be touched by hand or finger
This question is my question
Yes I believe in the being of being
And that I can hang it on pins and nails

ART, MEANING AND LOVE
How can chocolates become so meaningful ?
Obviously I have managed to L them
and therefore admire their beauty
which is one way of celebrating them as art works

Could they have been something else ?
It can be anything
Do I love everything ?
Unfortunately not. But all things can be loved
by different people at different times: enemies,
devils, gods and chocolate candies

When you love something - regardless of
the quality question - it becomes meaningful for
those who love it ( or like it, if the word "love"
is too dramatic for you ), as for instance, the awful
collective desire for the new, the boring nostalgia
for the cultural past, flags, nations and totalitarian
art movements

Nobody has a free choice when it comes to love
