What Can We Learn From Nature? è il titolo del meeting che segnerà l'inizio dei lavori di Green Days. Green Days è un progetto multidisciplinare basato sulla relazione tra ambiente urbano e natura, e sulla possibilità di imitare la natura attraverso la biomimetica applicata alle artivi visive e performative nello spazio pubblico.

Il progetto coinvolge quattro spazi non profit per l'arte contemporanea: Neon>Campobase (Bologna), AAA - Audiovisual Artists Anonymous (Brussels), Eastside Projects (Birmingham), Fabrica de Pensule (Cluj-Napoca). Durante la primavera, ogni partner inviterà un artista a tenere un workshop nella propria città, riflettendo sul ruolo della natura e delle aree verdi nel tessuto urbano, camminando attraverso gli spazi cittadini per portare così avanti una sorta di indagine sociale e urbanistica, chiedendo al pubblico di partecipare attivamente al processo artistico.

What Can We Learn From Nature? è il primo atto mirato alla creazione di un framework, una struttura che renda possibile la collaborazione e la ricerca collettiva. L'obiettivo è creare una piattaforma che possa sollevare domande, dar vita a nuovi scenari, e provocare il dibattito.

Ciascuna organizzazione e ciascun artista mostrerà il lavoro di ricognizione portato avanti negli ultimi mesi, al fine di comparare e analizzare i rispettivi contesti e finalità. La biomimetica così rivelerà la sua reale valenza all'interno del progetto: non una mera occasione per la creazione di oggetti morfo- logicamente simili a ciò che troviamo in natura, ma un modello, un catalizzatore che permetta ai partecipanti di sperimentare una forma di cooperazione basata sullo studio approfondito di contesti e desideri.
Green Days contribuisce alla creazione di spazi mentali e fisici dedicati alla condivisione di cono- scenze e all'esperienza della collaborazione.

Abbiamo chiesto ad alcuni artisti e curatori di rispondere alla domanda What Can We Learn From Nature? scrivendo un testo ispirato ai principali temi del progetto. Abbiamo anche chiesto loro di concludere lo scritto con un'ulteriore domanda, nutrendo una grande fiducia nei punti interrogativi. Se siete interessati a partecipare al meeting, inviateci pure il vostro intervento (un testo, un'immagine, un disegno, ecc.) che contribuirà al paper che pubblicheremo a fine progetto.

What Can We Learn From Nature? is the meeting that marks the start of Green Days's activities. Green Days is a multidisciplinary project based on the relationship between urban environment and nature, and on the possibility to "imitate nature” through biomimicry applied to the visual and perfor- ming arts in public space.

The project involves four european non profit organisations devoted to contemporary art: neon>campobase (Bologna), AAA - Audiovisual Artists Anonymous (Brussels), Eastside Projects (Birmingham), Fabrica de Pensule (Cluj-Napoca). During spring, each partner will invite an artist to hold a workshop on site, relfecting on the role of nature and green areas in the urban texture, walking throughout the city in order to carry out a social and urban survey, asking the public to participate actively to the artistic process.

What Can We Learn From Nature? is the first actual step for the creation of a framework, a structure that can make collaboration and research possible. We aim at setting up a platform which can raise questions, organise new backgrounds, create connections and provoke discussions.

Each organisation and each artist will show the work they carried out during these months, in order to compare and analyse the respective contexts and objectives. Biomimicry will thus reveal the real role it has into the project: it won't be an occasion to build nature-like objects, but it will be a model for participants to ground a kind of cooperation, based on the in-depth examination of different settings and wishes.
Green Days is going to contribute to the creation of mental and physical spaces devoted to knowled- ge sharing and to the experience of collaboration.

We've asked some artists and curators to answer the question What Can We Learn From Nature? by writing a text inspired by the main topics of the project.
If you're interested in participating, please send us your submissions (a text, an image, a drawing, etc). It will contribute to the paper we will publish at the end of the project. Please find attached a word cloud for inspiration.
