Public Panels. 150 international speakers, 800 selected thinkers, designers and pioneers from media, business, society, technology and art
DLD (Digital - Life - Design) is a global conference network on innovation, digital, science and culture which connects business, creative and social leaders, opinion-formers and investors for crossover conversation and inspiration. Besides the 150 international speakers, 800 selected thinkers, designers and pioneers from media, business, society, technology and art are expected to attend the event. DLD ARTS contributions this year includet two highly interdisciplinary conversation panels by Hans Ulrich Obrist: "Ever Clouds" and "Solair Solar" ask Stuart Brand, Elizabeth Diller, Hans Magnus Enzensberger and Olafur Eliasson, amongst others, to bridge the gap between visual arts, urbanism, climate engenieering, solar energy and computer science. In addition, the commissioned DLD ARTS projects "CWELED4DLD" (2011) by Cerith Wyn Evans, a series of multicoloured, inconsistently programmed LED badges, with short message instructions, comments on Twitter's logic to continually force us to update our reality with 140 characters: by having the badges distributed to the participants during the conference, this work generates a social dimension (co-curated by Johannes Fricke Waldthausen and H.U. Obrist). Other DLD ARTS projects on view include Rafael Rozendaal, Carlo Rati, Tomas Saraceno, Casey Reas and Angelo Plessas.
