Aura As Capital. Lecture

What is aura? How is aura created? How does it operate in artworks and devotional objects? The Piroschka Dossis lecture throws light on the parallels between the positioning of artworks in the present-day art system and the church's canonization of relics in the Middle Ages, the accumulation of relics/artworks as capital reserves and the mechanisms of their price formation. For the guest_*talks series 'Reservoirs', models for discussion that go beyond the production of classical values.
