comunicato stampa

On June 10th in New York, Immaterial presents IMMATERIAL BINGO

Art bingo as it's never been played before!

3:30-6:00, first game at 4:00
The Ohio Theater, 66 Wooster Street, between Broome and Spring

Admission is free. Two dollars per game to play.

Immaterial Bingo is played by official bingo rules, but every game has a highly unusual way of producing random numbers. Devices used will include a modified bicycle, a hedgehog, barcode scanners, video, darts, pictograms, radio stations, and bandaids.

Jonathan Ames, novelist and performance artist, will serve as MC and bingo caller. Winners receive prizes made by artists including Joe Amhrein, Devon Dikeou, Spencer Finch, Nina Katchadourian, Sheila Pepe, & David Scher.

Immaterial also presents the first of its monthly art and sound projects for the web:

"Universal Algorithm for Basic Human Experience," a graph generator by Rev. Luke A. Murphy can be found at

"Planes Fly, Babies Cry," an audio track by Thomas Dimuzio & Scott Arford, can be found at http://www.immaterial.net/soundart/index.shtml

Immaterial Incorporated is a non-profit art and culture organization based in New York
