Contemporary Art and the French Riviera - An experimental territory, 1951-2011
Devoted to contemporary art from 1951 to today, 'L'Art contemporain et la Cote d'Azur - Un territoire pour l'experimentation, 1951-2011' is the major event of the summer 2011. It offers fifty cultural venues (museums, art centers, art schools, foundations, galleries, cultural and artistic associations) that present the works of 300 artists. The event aims to show that beyond the usual cliches, the Cote d'Azur for 60 years is a formidable laboratory that continues to produce and host international artists. An historical and scientific exhibition that highlights the most discussed topics or media by artists since 1951 (painting, video, object, performance, sound, architecture, video, color, shape and self-representation).
