The title of this solo show: 'The Truth Will Make You Miserable' is a phrase overheard by the artist during a rant by a fellow passenger on public and turned into the starting point for a new body of work.

Other small statements, phrases and moments of succinct insight have been overheard and casually collected by the artist and they’ve been used as the basis for a series of drawings and sculptures. In finding these utterances both amusing and highly evocative, and admiring the commitment and self-belief of their delivery, Murray is re-presenting these proclamations within his own practice taking in drawings, sculptures and structure.
