Unforgiving
Mobile Home is pleased to present the second solo exhibition at the gallery
of new works by Julie Verhoeven.
In Unforgiving, Verhoeven presents a series of new drawings made on gessoed
panels which hang together to form large scale works. Her new drawings
feature surreal cartoon characters cavorting in an orgy of perverse abandon.
Completed in Verhoeven's inimitable style, these savage, intricate, and
delicate drawings present a dark and sombre portrayal of our inner desires.
Julie Verhoeven is a regular contributor to Self Service, Dazed & Confused,
The Face, Numero and showstudio.com. Her illustrations, designs and art
direction have featured in both the fashion and music industries.
Verhoeven's most recent work includes a collaboration with Fischerspooner
for their performances at Deitch Projects, New York, and the launch of her
fashion line for Gibo.
