Acclaimed directors David Cronenberg and Alan Parker will participate in
Pinewood Dialogues following preview screenings of their new films in
special programs presented by the American Museum of the Moving Image. On
Sunday, February 9, Alan Parker (Mississippi Burning, Fame, The Commitments)
will speak after a screening of The Life of David Gale, a riveting thriller
starring Kevin Spacey, Laura Linney, and Kate Winslet. On Monday, February
9, David Cronenberg (Naked Lunch, Videodrome, Crash) will speak after a
screening of Spider, his adaptation of Patrick McGrath's nightmarish novel,
starring Ralph Fiennes, Miranda Richardson, and Vanessa Redgarve. Screening

THE LIFE OF DAVID GALE
Universal, 2003, 130 mins. Directed by Alan Parker. With Kevin Spacey, Kate
Winslet, Laura Linney. A discussion with Alan Parker (The Commitments,
Angela's Ashes) follows a screening of his latest film, about a University
of Texas professor, an advocate for the abolishment of capital punishment,
who is falsely convicted of the rape and murder of another activist and
suddenly finds himself on death row. This event takes place at the Directors
Guild Theater, located at 110 West 57 Street, in Manhattan. Tickets ($16

A Pinewood Dialogue with David Cronenberg
SPIDER
Sony Pictures Classics, 2003, 98 mins. Directed by David Cronenberg. With
Ralph Fiennes, Miranda Richardson. David Cronenberg (Videodrome, Naked
Lunch, Crash) will discuss his latest film, a brilliant adaptation of
Patrick McGrath's novel. This event takes place at the Museum in Astoria.
