In residence at Tate Britain
The epic space of the Duveen Galleries will be buzzing with life as English National Ballet animates Tate Britain's Picasso and Modern British Art exhibition. Inspired by Picasso's visionary costume and set design work with the Ballets Russes, this collaboration offers a rare insight into how English National Ballet rehearses repertoire and creates commissions with a week-long programme of participatory workshops, talks, ballet classes, rehearsals, performances, and the opportunity to draw from life. The artistic culmination of the residency will be three ballets commissioned by English National Ballet especially for Picasso and Modern British Art, premiered in the Duveen Galleries during Late at Tate Britain on Friday 2 March 2012. The complete programme is on the web site.
