Exchange of Experience Event. The main objective of event is to interact at various European levels, to hear about the Essnet Culture report on both culture and creative industries statistics.
The main objective of the CREA.RE event on March 20th is to interact at various European levels, to hear about the Essnet Culture report on both culture and creative industries statistics. Swedish national organisations (already involved in the Essnet work) will comment on how to support the participating regions to adapt the methods to their needs, while remaining in a general framework. This is one effort to contribute to a stronger evidence-based policy making in Europe. The CREA.RE benchmarking raster prepared by KEA will should be a valuable example of the real challenges with real cases.
10-15 European regions will take part and possibly adapt their way of dealing with methodologies to measure the activities related to cultural and creative industries.
The political debate will broaden from statistics and the Open Method of Coordination, to culture and creative industries and their innovation potential (European Creative Industries Alliance) as well as to the potential of regional cooperation for higher competitiveness. A few case-studies on how good practices in the sector are transferred from one partner region to the other will close the informative round.
The Nordic council of Ministers and their “Krea Nord” are invited as well as Swedish national authorities and organisations. In the CREA.RE spirit, the event aims to enable the dialogue at regional, national and European level and therefore participants from all over Europe are welcome to Gothenburg.
