The relationship with our planet involves duties and responsibilities

Can we still consider politics just a system of administration and organisation of society? Can politics still consider itself just the expression of one country or another’s national interests? Faced with such an interconnected world, and with such drastic and global changes (such as population increase, environmental disasters beyond national borders and beyond culture and religion), can we still think of politics with short-sighted vision and confined by its own territorial boundaries?

Or can we imagine a new political approach, able to discuss the interests of man as a species to preserve its continuity and safety? Can we think of global politics so enlightened as to know how to overcome each country’s personal interests in order to reason out and plan a new movement aimed at safeguarding our species and the planet that hosts us? Can politics have a long-term vision? Can politics self-modify to create a new system that goes beyond graphics and economic forecasts, and that considers man as an individual, as an intellectual being capable of thinking, creating, inventing and imagining the best for itself and its fellows?

Since the Swiss Confederation has a long history of neutrality and is frequently involved in peace-building processes around the world, it’s the perfect place to start a discussion about our planet as a common good of the human being. Switzerland is also the home of a large number of international organizations, including the second largest UN office, the Red Cross, etc

The project will involve citizens and people of international institutes, in a video project about the possibility to image a global Political Organisation able to take care of the destiny of the environment and able to plan a long term policy in a global scale to preserve the planet and the resources for the human being.
