The inaugural event examines the remarkable work and life of the artist in the context of feminism, politics, and art of the 1980s and today. Kellie Jones, Associate Professor in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University, presents an in-depth look at the aritst followed by a conversation with O'Grady. Founded in 2004 by art historian and curator RoseLee Goldberg, Performa is the leading organization dedicated to exploring the critical role of live performance in the history of twentieth-century art and to encouraging new directions in performance for the twenty-first century.
