Niall O'Brien

Soho House Berlin, Berlin

Born in Dublin in 1979, Niall O'Brien began to photograph his friends, who were part of the skater scene. Since then, O'Brien has exhibited his work extensively in London as well as in New York. In his documentary yet alternately romantic and melancholic style of portraiture, O'Brien balances the articulation of truth and fiction. His first German solo-exhibition Good Rats is on show at the Upon Paper space in Berlin until July 28, 2012. O'Brien will be in the Soho House to present and discuss his work as a filmmaker and photographer with Holger Homann from Upon Paper magazine.
