Open House with Marina Abramovic, Steve Paxton, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, and their students
This year's instructors, Marina Abramovic, Steve Paxton, and Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, explain their respective approaches and-in collaboration with the students-present the outcome of their workshops (held earlier this summer). Visitors will be welcome to engage with teachers and students, ask questions, and learn more about the teaching processes of these diverse artistic luminaries. Steve Paxton (1-2pm) will begin the presentations with an open rehearsal of his seminal postmodern works Satisfyin' Lover (1967) and State (1968). Thereafter, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (2-4pm) and his workshop participants will create a slow, evolving, ritualized ceremony. Marina Abramovic (4-6pm) will conclude the day's events with the presentation of her students' individual projects as well as a lesson in the Abramovic Method for MoMA PS1 visitors.
