FNB Vita Art Prize 2000

Nominate an artist and win a trip to a private game reserve.

FNB Vita and the Sandton Civic Art Gallery are once again inviting the public to nominate an artist/s who exhibited work between January and December 1999, to be commissioned for the prestigious FNB VITA ART PRIZE 2000.

The aim is to promote interest and provoke debate around South African contemporary art and after reviewing and considering all nominations, a panel of judges will draw up a short list of a maximum of six artists.

These artists will be commissioned to produce a new work for the FNB VITA ART PRIZE and EXHIBITION 2000 to be held at the Sandton Civic Gallery from July 18 to September 2 this year. One of these artists will be selected as the FNB Vita Art Prize 2000 Artist, winning the prize of R30,000.

An added bonus for anyone who nominates an artist for this prestigious prize is that they will automatically come in line to win a trip for two to a Game Reserve in Mpumalanga!

The FNB Vita Art Prize nominees will be announced at a function to be held in February 2000, at the Sandton Civic Gallery at which the lucky draw will take place. The person whose name is drawn, wins a 3 day visit to the private game reserve with compliments of Stonewell Travel.

To win this fun prize, interested people must fill in a nomination form which can be found at selected art galleries in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban and send it to FNB Vita (postage paid).
