Wedding Reception
31.05.2003, 19.00 to 22.00h
Entrance Hall, Bethanien
A few months ago, Italian artist Mario Rizzi started an intervention, which
will eventually see two people of Kurdish origin get married in Germany.
At this particular point in time, the marriage, which was originally
scheduled to happen this month, can not be celebrated for reasons pertaining
to bureaucratic issues in relation with the Iraqi citizenship of one of the
partners. Unfortunately, with still no administration in place in Iraq, it
is impossible to get the papers required for the marriage on time.
Instead of waiting for all hurdles to be cleared, Rizzi has decided to hold
a pre-wedding function, to take place at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien. People
are invited to join the reception, have drinks and food and meet the future
bride and groom.
A poster with statements by Paula Böttcher, Isabel Carlos, Chiara Leoni,
Teresa Macri, Eva Neklayeva, Suzanne Oxenaar a.o. will be available.
Mario Rizzi is a former participant in the International Studio Programme of Künstlerhaus Bethanien.
