Panorama View – group show of young and emerging artists curated by CorAAL
CorAAL is pleased to release the launch of the first edition of CorAAL Video Art
Festival, an open contest conceived for international video artists to be held in New York in 2013. As part as the New York No Limits Film Series, the ongoing collection of screening showing the most unconventional and independent international films, CVAF aims to provide a platform for the artists working in the medium and to be a catalyst for a dialogue between artists and the public.
Starting in March 2013 CorAAL will accept submissions to be proposed to international critics and curators, selecting the very best artwork for final exhibitions at the Awards Ceremony in December 2013. Once more CorAAL stands by its mission of promoting critical dialogue and collaboration between the arts.
The contest will be presented to the public on Dec 14th during NYNL Film Series 2012 Summit (December 12-15th 2012), four days festival of film and shorts screening. For this special event guested at the White Box Gallery (whiteboxnyc.org) in the Lower East Side, CorAAL is thrilled to announce the participation of Francesco Simeti, italian artist based in New York, internationally known and represented by two of the most prestigious galleries in Italy. Simeti creates visionary worlds from ordinary elements found in Nature. Simple and yet very detailed components are parts of an artificial Eden of which only with a closer look it is possible to pick the real essence. As in the film in which he can identify his self, the viewer crosses over the boundaries between familiar and extraordinary, brutality and beauty.
For the special event CorAAL will present an exhibition of emerging artists at the Brooklyn location, “Panorama View” as CorAAl and NYNL continue their goal to promote interaction of the art and diversity in artist point of view and overall aesthetic.
