Your Groundwater: a new series consisting of textiles, photographs and drawings
The starting point for Ane Graff's artistic practice is an interest in the nature of matter and how we understand and experience the material world around us. Graff's works offer a visual approach to research questions related to philosophy and natural science. She is most known for her detailed nature drawings that resemble scientific illustrations, yet which nevertheless contain interpretive elements. Graff has recently expanded her practice to include other media such as photography, textiles, painting and sculpture. In "Your Groundwater", Graff presents a new series consisting of textiles, photographs and drawings. The exhibition reflects on questions related to human vulnerability, decay and illness. Although Ane Graff was born in 1974 in the northern Norwegian town of Bodo, she now divides her time between Oslo and Amsterdam. She graduated from Vestlandets Kunstakademi in Bergen in 2004 and has since participated in many exhibitions at home and abroad.
