Sanfillipo uses digital media as a vector for exploring relationships between new technology and traditional means of representations.
In the work entitled "Madonna"; life is reintroduced to the image of the Madonna by means of modern technology, giving her a new freedom of movement, and thus altering our preconceived ideas of the classic icon.
In AB01 and AB02 flat coloured shapes appear in sequence to form a pseudo abstract painting.
Sound clips taken from cartoons reinforce the presence of these seemingly arbitrary shapes. The onomatopoeias projected suggest a more narrative finality as if the work is auto creating.
