A monthly presentation of experimental music at The Substation organized and facilitated by multi-disciplinary artist George Chua, an Associate Artist of The Substation. Its main features are musicians and sound artists working with computer technology and electronics that explore digital noise, electro-acoustic music and improvisations.
The first installment on the 19th of July will feature solo laptop performances by Yuen Chee Wai, Evan Tan and George Chua, followed by a 'laptop jam' between the three performers.
Yuen Chee Wai is a print and web designer for TheatreWorks. He has previously contributed sonically to Spell#7 Last Night In Sin (2001) and was part of DAVINCI project 2002.
Evan Tan is an audio archivist for the National Heritage Board who has been actively involve in the local music scene under various guises for the past 10 years. Other then his own solo laptop works, Evan is also currently a band member of The Observatory and Inverse.
George Chua is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work can be generally defined within these two areas: body (movement) and sound (experimental music/sound art). He has also composed music for various films and theatre productions and has collaborated with artists of various disciplines both
local and foreign. Currently an associate artist with The Substation.
