A word from the festival. We know you want to rush and discover our site... We know you don't care about any kind of introduction. As if you need to have everything explained in advance... But, anyway, even though we know all of this, we want to welcome you to the improved habitat of Fantasia. Before you decide to pursue the quest for your well deserved fix of information, here are some useful things you should know about us. Like the fact that Fantasia is a film festival dedicated to genre cinema from around the world (I bet that's useful information!).

We know you want to rush and discover our site... We know you don't care about any
kind of introduction. As if you need to have everything explained in advance... But,
anyway, even though we know all of this, we want to welcome you to the improved
habitat of Fantasia.
Before you decide to pursue the quest for your well deserved fix of information, here are
some useful things you should know about us. Like the fact that Fantasia is a film festival
dedicated to genre cinema from around the world (I bet that's useful information!). Indeed
it is the biggest festival of its kind in North America. From fantasy to action, horror, martial
arts, animation, heavy drama, comedy, erotic and much more, every year Fantasia offers a
panel of films ready to take you by surprise and leave you breathless, over-saturated with
cinematic emotions that can often be hard to get from the sometimes foreseeable world
we live in. Yes, we are talking here about an easy access (finally!) to films that are usually
extremely hard to see. They can be strange, shocking, refined, highly commercial,
completely underground, sexually stimulating, repugnant or funny, but if they are
different from what we usually see, we'll try our best to present them. Be aware that if
that's the kind of thrill your looking for in life, then there is a chance you'll find it here.
Since 1996, Fantasia has been presenting the best from the Asian film industries and the
rest of the world. Numerous and prestigious guests are also a big part of the annual
fiesta. Feel free to check us out, if you still have doubts. All past catalogues from the
festival are now on-line.
Another thing you need to know is that Fantasia takes place every year during the
summer in Montreal, so plan your holidays in advance, be brave and curious, and make
sure to visit us (regularly!).
One last crucial thing before you go much further: Fantasia is now also an on-line
magazine. That's new and we thought you had or know about it. If you're into reading
interviews, essays, reviews, news, etc. about all those wonderful things you love to love
obsessively, then do not forget to visit that part of the site as well. Feel free to lose
yourself there... Do not be scared... You'll be able to find your way back. Maybe... If not,
you can always scream for help... We love it so much when that happens...
