From Missions to Modernism.
Organized by guest curator Bill Stern, California Pottery is an exhibition of commercially
produced ceramic tableware and home accessories made in California during the first half of
the twentieth century. These everyday objects feature both abstract designs and narrative
representations of the state's culture. Drawn exclusively from California collections, the
approximately 180 pieces in the exhibition are a selection from producers throughout the
state.
