A Memorial Exhibition. The exhibition includes selections from Buck's latest body of abstract paintings. He examines color and texture through the incorporation of a diverse range of material.
Brian Gross Fine Art is pleased to announce a memorial exhibition for the late Bay Area artist Chad Buck, opening Thursday, May 2, 2013, with an opening reception on Saturday, May 4, 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Buck passed away on February 1, 2013 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The exhibition celebrates Buck’s life and work, an accomplished painter and printmaker in the Bay Area for over 30 years. Displayed will be Buck’s elegantly gestural works that reveal the material process of painting, on view through June 29, 2013.
The exhibition will include selections from Buck’s latest body of abstract paintings. Buck examines color and texture through the incorporation of a diverse range of materials, such as the application of enamel onto burlap. Marked by textural and sensual expressionism, Buck’s works are vibrant visual fields of rich and nuanced color and form.
Born in Caldwell, Idaho, Buck received his MFA from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. Chad Buck exhibited widely in the United States, as well as in Japan, Mexico and France. In 2001, Buck was awarded the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. He maintained studios in Oakland, California and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
