A PINEWOOD DIALOGUE
Thursday, September 25
7:30 p.m.
Jeremy Blake, the acclaimed genre-mixing visual artist whose DVD-based work, often described as time-based paintings, evoke the "myths and pathos of American pop culture" (Time Out New York), will participate in a Pinewood Dialogue at the Museum on Thursday, September 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Riklis Theater.
The program will feature a discussion with Blake, punctuated by projected video excerpts, about his creative process and the ideas underlying his work. The event also includes an audience Q & A session and a reception in the William Fox Gallery.
Blake's latest work, 1906 (2003, 21 mins.), will be screened in a continuous loop in the William Fox Gallery beginning at 6:30 p.m. In honor of the Museum's 15th anniversary this month, this evening will be free of charge to the public. The event is co-presented by Creative Time and moderated by the Museum's Curator of Digital Media, Carl Goodman.
